Now this song hits really close to home. It IS about self harm and how the negativity can affect you in ways you will never know and i pray you never do. This song has the most meaning to me and i hope that i can provide some comfort for someone else who is in a position like this.
To feel sadness follow you like a dog refers the fact that its like a cloud overlooming you and it feels like it's always raining when the sun is shining. This song refers to self injury and self harm in ways i could never explain in full; but the lines "How did i end this way; i told myself, nevermore" refer to my own struggle with my mind. Leading me down a path i never want to see again. I told myself one day that i would never self harm again and this song re-itterates that saying twice, because I WANT it to get stuck in your head if you do. To NEVER feel so low that you feel it is the only escape. Just keep still and breathe. Open your eyes and know you're alive. Let go of this negative body that holds you and pray the best will come on home.
